There are tons and tons of sites out there about pregnancy and bringing up a new-born but the majority are very Americanised and don’t relate to having a baby here. This site offers a breath of fresh air simply because it’s Irish and deals frankly and honestly about what to expect from visits to the hospital, maternity clothes, labour pains and all the other things you wanted to know but were afraid to ask.

EXPECTANT and new mothers need no longer despair over whether or not they are doing everything the "right way".
A website, created especially for parents in Ireland, called www.baby2kids.ie, covers everything from the first stages of pregnancy to bringing up, feeding and entertaining your little cherubs.
The site is easy to navigate, with separate sections on pregnancy, clothing, childcare and health to name but a few. For anyone new in town, a vital section is the list of GPs in your local area. There is advice on choosing a maternity hospital or midwife for your home birth, as well as information on the benefits of both. Along with suggestions for making those first years rim smoothly, the site also provides tips for grandparents who are minding small children in their home, dental development and feeding your child.
One of the most useful areas of the site deals with the practical aspects of transporting a small child, providing advice on car seats, positioning of them and, all importantly, contact details for where you can obtain the best and safest seat for your car.
Another particularly useful section is the Holiday Medicine Checklist which is provided in the Health section, with those essentials for any young child, so you can avoid being caught out.
All new mothers need to make time to get out and about, but can find planning and executing a trip out exhausting.
The Out & About section provides details of events and areas in Ireland which are child friendly with a run down of what both parent and child can expect from their day trip.
