Safety Helmets

Helmets are made of a material designed to absorb a blow and fracture, crush, or break when the head hits something. THAT’S HOW THEY PROTECT THE BRAIN (…and why they’re called “brain buckets”!). Helmets are designed to withstand ONE FALL! Replace a helmet after ANY head impact. It did its job!

CAUTION:

Helmet industry advisories warn that environmental conditions deteriorate the shock absorbing foam materials (usually EPS [Expanded-Poly-Styrene] and GEset), and helmets should be replaced every 5 to 7 years.

BE CAREFUL:

IF A BICYCLE WITH A BABY IN A BABYSEAT FALLS OVER, THE INFANT’S HEAD WILL PROBABLY STRIKE THE GROUND.

ALL BABIES should wear helmets in baby seats.

INFANTS LESS THAN 10 MONTHS OLD SHOULD NOT BE PUT IN BABY SEATS due to the possibility of neck “whiplash” caused by a baby’s insufficient neck strength. Check with your doctor
