Jilly's Garden Works

Hi, my name is Jill, I have my own garden Business, which is called "Jilly's Garden Works", its been up and running for the past 3 years, I look after gardens that need a bit of minding, like weeding , digging, planting up etc. 

My love of gardening started when I was quite young, my Dad had a big long garden , and every year he planted lots of potatoes, beeetroot, cabbages,onions, carrots, lettuce, spring onions, peas and beans. 

I used to sit and pod peas with him for our dinner , which were always yum!!

And from that I think that is where my love of gardening came from.I only have a tiny garden, and have to grow all my vegatables in pots and containers, but they grow well, and only last year I had my first crop of spuds which were really good. 

So , from an early age there is nothing to stop you from growing your own vegatables, flowers, and they are so easy to do.

Starting off :

• Just get yourself a old icecream container or two.
• Punch in a few holes for drainage,a couple of packets of  seeds .( you could  split  them with a friend, and they could grow some too) 
• A bag of compost and set the seeds, keep them on a bright windowsill, not somewhere in direct sunlight or they will bolt and root.
• Once they start to grow , remove them from windowsill, and let them become bigger, then transplant them on into a container and water well, and watch them grow and soon you will have your own vegatables!!! 
• You will need to feed them , there are lots of different feeds available , but I try to use organic if i can, something with seedweed in it is always good.
